A one-night gathering I hosted in Brooklyn, exploring recognition, intuition, and the signals that shape us before we know how to name them.
We're always looking for signs. This was ours.

I hosted "This Is Your Sign" because this series is about the mask as shared code ; what we inherit, what we protect, what we're still becoming. It felt wrong to let it live only as paintings people walk past. I wanted a room. I wanted people standing in front of the work, next to each other, having an experience for one night.
Putting it together took a real team, not just me in a studio. Studio Q, Format Gallery, and the super team of mega creatives (Sonya, Maya, Tiff, Jaza, Pat) helped it come together faster and better than I expected because of them. In addition, I brought together some local Brooklyn brands to provide treats and gifts for the special guests.
I've done gallery shows and fairs before, but this one was different. It was mine, built from scratch, on my terms, in my city. This is the first time I've thrown something like this myself, and it won't be the last.

Meet the Artist
Arthur Midianga is an artist turning ancestral energy, human connection, and myth into a living, visual language.
His work explores character, story, and collective consciousness, creating a world that is at once personal, playful, and communal. It’s a shared myth and a conversation between characters, past and present.
Arthur is a first generation Kenyan-American, based in New York. His work has been featured internationally, including Saatchi’s Other Art Fair.
